The process starts with the vials being fed into the conveyor to be moved to the infeed star wheel. The infeed star wheel accurately positions each vial under the sealing heads, assuring precise alignment. Caps are then fed into the system by the cap feeder, which operates with a variable frequency drive to control the speed of cap feeding accurately. If there are no caps available, the "No Cap - No Capping System" will halt the machine to prevent uncapped vials from proceeding. Similarly, the "No Vial - No Capping System" assures that caps are only applied to vials present in the system. Once the vials and caps are properly aligned, the sealing heads descend, and the spring-loaded free-spinning single sealing rollers engage to crimp the caps into the vials. This planetary motion assures a tight, uniform seal with minimal particle generation, which is important for maintaining the integrity of injectable products.
After sealing, the vials are transported to the exit star wheel, which also features a safety and overload clutch system to prevent any potential jamming or overloading. The entire process is synchronized by a single motor, with speed adjustments made via the VFD to match production requirements. The inbuilt pulse counter tracks the number of vials processed, assuring accurate production monitoring.
